Homemade nut milk is so much more nutritious than what you would buy in the store and it tastes better too. It’s simple to make this delicious dairy alternative. Watch my video to learn how.
Nut Milk Recipes
Unsweetened plain nut milk
1 – 2 cups raw nuts, soaked, rinsed and drained (My favorites are cashews, almonds, and pecans. Use 1 cup nuts for the texture of skim, 1 1/2 cups for 2%, 2 cups for whole. My preference is whole. It makes for creamy delicious smoothies.)
6 cups purified water
pinch of sea salt
1 Tbsp. virgin coconut oil
Blend the purified water and soaked nuts in a high speed blender like a Vitamix for about 60 seconds, until well blended and smooth. Blend longer if using a low speed blender. Strain the blended nut mixture by squeezing it through a nut milk bag into a large bowl. Rinse the blender container and return to it the strained milk. Add the sea salt, coconut oil and optional ingredients listed below. Blend on high for about 30 seconds.
For naturally sweetened milk try adding……..
4 Tbsp. date paste
1-3 Tbsp. maple syrup (not a raw product)
1-3 Tbsp. raw honey (not a vegan product)
Try to eventually use less sweetener as your taste buds adjust.
other variations……all best with the sweetened version
